Overview
Artisan Bakeries is a full-stack bakery management platform designed to help local bakeries establish a modern online presence while simplifying day-to-day operations. The platform allows customers to browse products, customize orders, and place purchases online, while bakery owners manage inventory, monitor sales, and streamline order fulfillment through a centralized dashboard.
The project focused on creating an intuitive shopping experience without sacrificing the operational tools needed by bakery owners.

The Problem
Many small bakeries still rely on social media, phone calls, or messaging applications to receive orders. This process often results in inconsistent order tracking, inventory confusion, pricing errors, and limited opportunities to showcase products effectively.
Customers also struggle to customize products or receive updates on their orders, creating friction throughout the purchasing journey.

The Goal
The objective was to build a scalable platform that modernizes the bakery ordering experience by combining an elegant customer storefront with powerful management tools for bakery owners.
Key goals included simplifying online ordering, supporting customizable bakery products, reducing manual inventory management, improving order tracking, and creating an intuitive and responsive user experience.

My Role
As Frontend Developer, responsibilities included developing responsive React interfaces, building reusable UI components, creating customer-facing shopping experiences, implementing product browsing and filtering, integrating frontend components with backend APIs, and optimizing responsiveness across devices.

Design Approach
The interface was designed around warmth, simplicity, and accessibility. Soft colors, spacious layouts, and high-quality product imagery help communicate freshness and craftsmanship while keeping the purchasing process straightforward.
The user journey was intentionally kept short to reduce friction between discovering products and completing an order.

Key Features
Customer Storefront - Customers can browse bakery collections, explore seasonal products, and discover featured items through an organized product catalog.
Custom Cake Builder - Instead of selecting predefined products only, customers can personalize cakes by choosing flavors, sizes, decorations, and additional options. Dynamic pricing updates automatically based on selected customizations.
Smart Inventory Integration - Product availability reflects inventory status, preventing customers from selecting unavailable items and reducing order conflicts.
Shopping Cart & Checkout - Users can manage quantities, review customizations, and complete purchases through a streamlined checkout process.
Order Tracking - Customers receive clear updates throughout the preparation and fulfillment process, improving transparency after purchase.
Bakery Dashboard - Bakery owners can manage products, monitor incoming orders, update inventory, and review sales performance from a centralized dashboard.

Challenges
One of the primary challenges was maintaining a clean and intuitive interface while supporting highly customizable products. The ordering flow needed to remain simple even as multiple customization options dynamically affected pricing and availability.
Another challenge involved designing reusable frontend components that could scale as additional product categories and bakery features were introduced.
